Valid from 29 October 2026. These GTC replace the General Terms and Conditions of 1 June 2026.

1. Scope and parties

1.1 These GTC apply to the rental of vehicles by EV-Adventure GmbH ("EV-Adventure" or "lessor") to customers ("tenant"). The tenant is the natural or legal person named in the rental contract or booking.

1.2 Supplementary or deviating agreements may apply to long-term rentals. In case of conflict, the individual rental contract takes precedence over these GTC.

2. Booking and conclusion of contract

2.1 By booking online, the tenant makes a binding offer to conclude a rental contract (Art. 3 ff. Swiss Code of Obligations). The contract is concluded when payment has been successfully completed and EV-Adventure has confirmed the booking by e-mail.

2.2 While payment is in progress, the selected vehicle is reserved for a limited time (currently 30 minutes). If payment is not completed within this time, the reservation lapses.

2.3 Online bookings are possible no later than 24 hours before the start of the rental. Rentals at shorter notice can be submitted as a request via the booking form. A request is not yet a binding booking, and nothing is charged. A contract is only concluded once EV-Adventure confirms the request. Longer lead times or minimum rental periods may apply to individual vehicles; these are shown during the booking process.

2.4 EV-Adventure reserves the right to decline a booking or to provide an equivalent or higher-class vehicle if the booked vehicle is unavailable for important reasons (e.g. accident, defect). If no replacement is possible, all amounts already paid will be refunded in full; further claims are excluded.

3. Changes and cancellation by the tenant

3.1 Changes, postponements and cancellations must be notified to EV-Adventure in writing (preferably by e-mail to info@ev-adventure.com). The time of receipt by EV-Adventure is decisive.

3.2 The tenant may cancel free of charge up to 30 days before the start of the rental. For later cancellations the following fees apply:

  • up to 7 days before the start of the rental: CHF 100
  • up to 3 days before the start of the rental: 25 % of the total rental price
  • less than 3 days before the start of the rental: 50 % of the total rental price

3.3 Up to 30 days before the start of the rental, the tenant may postpone the rental period once by up to one year at no extra cost. The same conditions apply to the new rental period. A change of vehicle after conclusion of the contract is only possible by agreement.

3.4 Refunds are made to the original means of payment.

4. Failure to collect (no-show)

4.1 If the tenant does not collect the vehicle within two hours of the agreed time, EV-Adventure is no longer bound by the booking.

4.2 A no-show fee of CHF 100 is charged for each vehicle that is not collected and is offset against amounts already paid. The cancellation terms in clause 3 remain reserved.

5. Requirements for tenants and drivers

5.1 The minimum age is 21. The driver must have held a driving licence for at least one year. Drivers who are under 25 at the start of the rental are subject to a higher deposit (clause 7) and a higher deductible (clause 15).

5.2 The driver must hold a valid driving licence for the entire rental period. A driving licence from an EU state must be accompanied by a valid passport. A driving licence from a non-EU state must be accompanied by a passport and an international driving permit. In each case the passport must be valid for at least three months after the end of the rental.

5.3 The vehicle may only be driven by the tenant and by additional drivers who have been registered with EV-Adventure (name and driving licence) before the start of the rental and who also meet these requirements. Additional drivers are free of charge.

5.4 If the tenant or driver does not meet these requirements or has provided false information (e.g. about age), EV-Adventure may refuse the handover and withdraw from the contract. Costs already incurred are offset against amounts paid.

6. Handover and start of rental

6.1 Handovers and returns generally take place between 9 am and 6 pm at the booked handover location (e.g. Zurich Airport, Zug railway station). Handovers outside these hours are possible by arrangement.

6.2 EV-Adventure delivers the vehicle free of charge to any address in German-speaking Switzerland and collects it there again. Delivery and collection outside German-speaking Switzerland (e.g. Romandy, Ticino) cost a flat fee of CHF 200 in total. Any parking fees at the delivery or collection point are borne by the tenant.

6.3 At handover, the tenant presents the original of the valid driving licence and, if applicable, the passport or international driving permit (a copy or scan in advance). If the documents are missing, EV-Adventure may refuse the handover (clause 4.2 applies accordingly).

6.4 The vehicle is handed over in a roadworthy condition with at least 85 % battery charge. At the start of the rental, the tenant inspects the vehicle for any damage not already recorded in the handover report and reports it to EV-Adventure immediately with photos. If no report is made, the vehicle is deemed to have been handed over in proper condition.

6.5 If the tenant collects the vehicle late, the unused rental time is not refunded.

7. Deposit

7.1 The deposit is CHF 1,000, or CHF 3,000 for drivers who are under 25 at the start of the rental. It secures all claims arising from the rental (in particular charging costs, extra kilometres, damage, fines and fees).

7.2 The deposit is not paid together with the rental price. It is only reserved (authorised) on the tenant's credit or debit card; nothing is charged. The reservation is normally placed 1–2 days before the start of the rental, or immediately after booking for short-notice bookings, and is renewed during the rental if necessary. For this purpose, the tenant saves their card with the payment provider Stripe at booking; EV-Adventure does not receive full card details. If the tenant pays with TWINT, they must additionally provide a card for the deposit, as TWINT does not allow reservations. Without a valid card and a successful reservation, EV-Adventure may refuse the handover and withdraw from the contract (clause 9.2).

7.3 EV-Adventure may charge the reserved deposit in whole or in part to cover outstanding claims arising from the rental (charge up to the amount of the deposit at most). The part that is not charged is released after the return, no later than 30 days after the end of the rental; depending on the card issuer, the bank releases the amount again within a few days. No interest is paid on the deposit.

8. Rental price, mileage and extras

8.1 The prices shown in the booking process at the time of booking apply. The rental price is charged per started 24-hour period. All prices are in CHF. EV-Adventure is not registered for VAT; no VAT is charged or shown.

8.2 Duration discount: depending on the number of rental days (started 24-hour periods), a discount is applied to the rental price (e.g. 5 % from 3 days, 7.6 % from 7 days, 21.2 % from 30 days). The applicable discount level is shown in the booking process. The discount does not apply to extras or deliveries.

8.3 Mileage: driving within Switzerland is unlimited. If the rental includes travel abroad, 200 km per calendar day are included for the entire rental period (pick-up day to return day, both inclusive; e.g. one night = two calendar days = 400 km). Each additional kilometre is charged at CHF 0.50 after the return (clause 9.3).

8.4 Extras (where available and booked):

  • Premium full coverage (deductible reduced to CHF 500, age 25 and over only): 5 % of the rental price
  • Child seat: CHF 3 per started day (24 hours)
  • DreamCase mattress (Model Y and Model X only): CHF 25 per started day (24 hours)
  • Full Self-Driving (FSD): CHF 109 flat per rental

8.5 Charging: the tenant may charge at Tesla Superchargers. All charging costs (including any idle/blocking fees) are borne by the tenant. They are invoiced at cost (1:1) after the rental or charged to the reserved deposit.

8.6 EV-Adventure vouchers can only be redeemed at the time of booking and can be combined with the duration discount. They are valid for two years from the date of issue unless stated otherwise on the voucher. They cannot be exchanged for cash.

9. Payment

9.1 The rental price, extras and delivery are due in full at booking and are paid online via the payment provider Stripe (credit/debit card, TWINT, depending on availability). The deposit is only reserved in accordance with clause 7.

9.2 Without full payment, EV-Adventure may refuse the handover and withdraw from the contract.

9.3 The tenant authorises EV-Adventure to offset subsequent claims arising from the rental (in particular extra kilometres on trips abroad, charging costs, damage, fines, fees and processing charges) against the deposit or to invoice them separately. The tenant authorises EV-Adventure to charge such claims, up to the amount of the deposit, to the card on file, even if the reservation has already been released or has expired; claims exceeding that amount will be invoiced separately.

9.4 Invoices and receipts are sent electronically to the e-mail address provided. Separately issued invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. A fee of up to CHF 40 may be charged per reminder; the tenant bears any further collection costs.

9.5 The tenant may not offset claims of EV-Adventure against their own counterclaims.

10. Use of the vehicle

10.1 The tenant shall treat the vehicle with care, follow the operating instructions and lock the vehicle when not in use. If a defect occurs, the tenant shall interrupt the journey as soon as this can be done safely and notify EV-Adventure immediately. The tenant shall respond appropriately to warning and error messages from the vehicle.

10.2 In particular, the following are prohibited:

  • races, skid-pan or driving courses, and driving lessons;
  • towing, pushing or pulling other vehicles or objects;
  • driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication;
  • driving when overloaded or not roadworthy;
  • crossing waterways;
  • commercial transport of persons or goods, and subletting;
  • transporting flammable, explosive, toxic or other hazardous substances.

10.3 Smoking in the vehicle is strictly prohibited. In case of violation (even a single cigarette), a cleaning fee of CHF 500 to CHF 1,000 is charged. The tenant bears any further damage.

10.4 Dogs and other animals may only be transported by prior agreement with EV-Adventure and only in a transport box. Depending on the effort required, a fee of CHF 100 to CHF 1,000 is charged for animal hair. The tenant bears any damage caused by animals.

10.5 Vehicle settings and profiles in the on-board computer must not be deleted or changed. Activating "valet mode" and setting PINs (glove box, PIN to drive) is prohibited. In case of violation, a fee of CHF 20 is charged.

10.6 Repairs during the rental must be agreed with EV-Adventure in advance. The tenant bears the costs of repairs that were not agreed.

10.7 EV-Adventure may recall the vehicle during the rental for maintenance, wheel changes or replacement. Where possible, it will provide an equivalent vehicle.

11. Travel abroad

11.1 Travel abroad is only permitted within the territorial scope of the vehicles' motor insurance (Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, General Terms and Conditions for motor vehicle insurance, Art. 3). This covers the Principality of Liechtenstein, the states of Europe and the Mediterranean border and island states. Excluded are Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya and Syria. The insurance contract in force at the time is decisive. If in doubt, the tenant shall check the destination with EV-Adventure before departure.

11.2 The mileage rule in clause 8.3 applies to trips abroad.

11.3 The tenant shall comply with customs and entry regulations and any instructions from EV-Adventure. The tenant bears any costs arising from violations (e.g. customs duties, levies, fines).

12. Liability of the lessor

12.1 To the extent permitted by law, EV-Adventure is only liable for damage it has caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Any further liability is excluded, in particular for indirect damage, loss of profit, delays, missed connections or loss of use.

12.2 There is no entitlement to a replacement vehicle. However, EV-Adventure may offer a replacement.

13. Duties in case of accident, damage or theft

13.1 In the event of an accident, theft, fire, damage caused by wild animals or other damage, the tenant shall inform EV-Adventure immediately and do everything possible to clarify the facts and minimise the damage. The police must be called immediately in the event of any accident involving personal injury. This also applies to minor damage and single-vehicle accidents. If the police refuse to file a report, the tenant shall inform EV-Adventure immediately and provide proof. The tenant must not acknowledge liability.

13.2 If the tenant breaches these duties, they are fully liable for the damage incurred, and any limitations of liability or insurance cover lapse.

14. Traffic rules, fines and fees

14.1 The tenant shall comply with all traffic regulations. Until the vehicle is returned, the tenant is solely responsible for all violations of the law, including those committed by additional drivers.

14.2 Fines, fees and costs resulting from traffic offences, as well as parking and toll charges, are passed on to the tenant. EV-Adventure charges an administrative fee of CHF 100 for each case processed or each disclosure of the keeper's details to the authorities.

15. Insurance and liability of the tenant

15.1 All vehicles have full comprehensive (collision) insurance. The deductible per claim is CHF 1,000, or CHF 3,000 for drivers under 25. The age at the start of the rental is decisive. With the "Premium full coverage" extra, which can only be booked from age 25, the deductible is reduced to CHF 500. In case of gross negligence, intent or breach of these GTC, the tenant may be liable beyond the deductible.

15.2 Otherwise, the tenant is liable within the framework of the statutory provisions for damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle and its accessories during the rental. This includes the conduct of additional drivers and passengers. Multiple tenants are jointly and severally liable.

15.3 In addition to the deductible or the damage, the following may be charged:

  • costs of an expert report;
  • a processing fee of CHF 150 per claim;
  • loss of use during the repair at the agreed daily rate (in the event of a total loss, a flat minimum of 10 days).

15.4 Flat rates for common damage: minor rim damage (superficial scratches) costs CHF 250 per rim, and deeper rim damage costs CHF 500 per rim. If the charging cable or adapters are lost or damaged, the replacement cost plus a processing fee is charged.

15.5 EV-Adventure may have the cause and extent of any damage determined by an expert.

16. Return

16.1 The tenant shall return the vehicle with all accessories (charging cable, adapters, key card, booked extras) at the agreed time and place. Early return does not entitle the tenant to a price reduction. The rental ends when EV-Adventure takes the vehicle back.

16.2 Battery level: the vehicle must be returned with at least 20 % battery charge. Otherwise a charging fee of CHF 25 is charged plus the charging costs.

16.3 The vehicle must be returned clean inside and out. In case of excessive soiling, a cleaning fee of up to CHF 100 is charged (smoking and animal hair: clauses 10.3 and 10.4).

16.4 Late return: for each started 24-hour period, the tenant owes at least the agreed daily rate plus a processing fee of CHF 40. Further damage (e.g. subsequent rentals) remains reserved. If the key or key card is lost, a flat fee of CHF 250 is charged. Extensions are possible by agreement, also at short notice, subject to availability. They must be requested before the end of the rental and confirmed by EV-Adventure.

16.5 EV-Adventure may report damage, excessive wear or soiling within 7 working days of the return. Otherwise the vehicle is deemed to have been returned in good condition, subject to hidden defects.

16.6 Before the return, the tenant deletes any personal data stored in the vehicle (e.g. paired phone, navigation destinations). EV-Adventure is entitled but not obliged to delete such data.

17. Data protection

17.1 EV-Adventure processes the personal data of tenants and drivers (e.g. contact details, driving licence and ID data, payment and rental data) to perform the contract. Processing is in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR. Details are set out in the privacy policy: https://ev-adventure.com/en/privacy

17.2 The data required for payment processing is transmitted to Stripe. In the event of justified requests from authorities (e.g. traffic offences), the required data is disclosed.

17.3 The vehicles are permanently connected to the internet; location and vehicle data are recorded.

17.4 EV-Adventure may use the tenant's e-mail address to inform them about its own similar offers. The tenant may object to this at any time free of charge.

18. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

18.1 Swiss law applies exclusively, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

18.2 The place of jurisdiction is the registered seat of EV-Adventure GmbH, currently Kappel am Albis (Canton of Zurich). Mandatory statutory places of jurisdiction, in particular for consumers, remain reserved.

19. Final provisions

19.1 If any provision of these GTC is invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected. The invalid provision is replaced by a provision that comes closest to its purpose.

19.2 EV-Adventure may amend these GTC at any time. The version published on ev-adventure.com at the time of booking applies.

19.3 These GTC are available in German and English. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
